Meaning: at risk; in danger of being lost
Example Sentence: We have to do our best to increase our sales this year because a lot of jobs are at stake.

Meaning: (1) Literal definition: The last number on a profit and loss statement – the total earnings that a company takes in.
(2) Figurative definition: The final result or the final outcome. The most important point
Example Sentence: So the bottom line is, if we don’t earn enough for the company this year, we’re going to have to let many of our workers go.

Meaning: to stop working for the day
