JOB DESCRIPTION OF AN ACCOUNTANT

(1) JOB TITLE

Accountant

(2) OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

Recording transactions, accumulating and analyzing data, doing audits, assisting with budgets and financial forecasting, computing taxes, and presenting their findings to management and other entities such as the Internal Revenue Services or investors are all part of the accountant’s job description.

(3) SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

– Must be highly detail-oriented and organized.
– Must be proficient in data analysis.
– Must have the ability to multitask and meet a constant stream of deadlines.
– Must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
– Must have superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Must be familiar with accounting software and programs.
– Educational attainment must be at least Bachelor’s Degree in accounting.
