There are two World Heritage Sites I want to visit. One is Yakushima. The other is Shirakami Sanchi. I would feel closer to nature at both sites.
行ってみたい世界遺産が2つあります。ひとつは屋久島です。もうひとつは白神山地です。どちらも自然を身近に感じることができると思います。

First of all, let me ask you a question. Do you know “eco-tour”? It is about sightseeing while protecting fragile nature. Let’s enjoy Yakushima, keeping this in mind.
In 1993, Yakushima was registered as Japan’s first National World Heritage Site.
Yakushima is a round island with a land area of about 500 square kilometers that is covered with green forest. More than 40 of its mountains are over 1,000 meters high.
Yakushima experiences year-round warmth and humidity. The coastline region’s average temperature is 20 degrees Celsius, whereas the central region’s average temperature is 15 degrees Celsius. Yakushima also has a high amount of rainfall, and it is said that “it rains 35 days a month”!
That’s all for the orientation. Let’s enjoy the beautiful scenery on Yakushima!
