Chika’s Big Goal: Saving for a Plane Ticket
TUTOR:
How long have you been playing tennis, Chika?Hi Chika! You seem really busy these days. What have you been working on?
STUDENT:
Hey Smith! I’ve been working part-time at a café for the past six months. I’m trying to earn enough money to buy a plane ticket to Australia.
TUTOR:
That sounds exciting! How long have you been working there?
STUDENT:
I started in December, so I’ve been working there for about half a year now. I still need to work another few months before I have enough.
TUTOR:
That’s impressive! Have you saved much so far?
STUDENT:
Yes, I’m getting closer! I’ve been saving little by little, and I finally reached half of my goal. If everything goes well, I can buy the ticket by the end of summer.
TUTOR:
That’s amazing, Chika! I’m sure you’ll make it. If you need another part-time job, let me know. I might know a place that’s hiring.
STUDENT:
Really? That would be great! I want to earn the money as soon as possible. Thanks, Smith!
