Healthcare in Australia
Australia’s healthcare system is as good as any other developed country. With over 1,300 hospitals, most Australians have easy access to medical care. However, Aboriginal Australians, the original inhabitants of Australia, have not adapted well to the modern Australian society and find modern city life impossible. This is why most Aboriginals stay in rural areas that do not have water and electricity supplies, the reason why their living conditions are unsanitary which leads to spreading of diseases.
In 2008, the Australian government launched the Nurse Family Partnership. Nurses visit Aboriginal families in their own homes for easier healthcare access and for them to understand the cause of diseases. Because of the government’s help, Aboriginal Australians’ health have been slowly improving.
