K to 12 curriculum
The Philippine education system follows the K to 12 curriculum. This curriculum aims to develop the skills of students as it provides them enough time to prepare for college education. The K to 12 curriculum covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education. Basic education is divided into elementary, junior high school, and senior high school. Students study elementary education for 6 years, junior high school for 4 years, and senior high school for 2 years. In senior high school, students choose a track to study. The tracks are composed of academic, livelihood, and sports and arts. This helps students decide which major they should study in college.
