Advantages of Pictograms
Cultural background affects how people understand a certain context. If the symbols used in a pictogram are not common, people might find its message confusing. A pictogram that fails to deliver the message it intends is useless.
On the other hand, pictograms have several advantages. Being visually appealing is one of them. They grab people’s attention with its bright colors and designs. Another advantage is that since it uses symbols, it is easier to understand compared to written signs. People quickly understand pictograms by simply looking at them. Because of this, pictograms take the place of long written signs in public places.
