PART C_2

Learning a Foreign Language
I own a ryokan, which is a Japanese inn. Many foreign tourists came to Wakaba City because it was appeared in a popular anime. I made English brochures for them; my inn was first popular, but as time went by, fewer foreigners visited.

I used English to interview my foreign guests. Their responses helped me understand the problem better. They gave me several suggestions. Some people wanted a variety of dishes for dinner and breakfast. Some people were looking for a washing machine and free Wi-Fi. Everything they taught me was new to me. I made some changes, and they worked well. My customers were happier than they had been in the past. Not only that, but the number of foreign visitors came than before. Language is a tool to discover a new way. A foreign language can open up your future.
