Recently, I have read research about water and sanitation linked to health improvement. It is related to Sustainable Development Goal number six which is availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. When I was a college student, I worked as a volunteer at the poor areas in the Philippines where people lack clean water and have poor sanitation. That is the reason why I became interested to know more about the research that I have read.

Here are the details of the research. It focuses on sanitation and water management for health improvement in rural and urban areas. The research reflects improvements in sanitation and long-term health. However, it fails to reflect a positive outcome on access to improved drinking water sources. In other words, effective management of used water should be improved in order to provide clean water sources and maintain good sanitation.

Nowadays, many people around the world experience a shortage of clean water sources. For example in the Philippines, many people experience water shortage. Based on my experience, many people in the Philippines still use water from sources that are not safe for drinking and could affect their health in the long run. Also, I have been doing some research about clean water sources in different areas around the Philippines. However, some clean water sources cannot be accessed by communities because they are far from where most people live. Those experiences made me interested to learn more about the research that I read. Based on that, I can conclude that good management of wastewater plays a big role in maintaining a healthy community.
