Shah Jahan, a Mughal king, built the Taj Mahal in 1632. He loved his wife so much that he built the Taj Mahal as a memorial to her, who died in childbirth in 1631.

The dome is made of white marble, and the river’s reflections change how the Taj is seen. The colors change throughout the day and seasons.

The Taj Mahal is one of the most popular world heritage sites due to the mythic changing of its color and its history. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it welcomes between 7 and 8 million tourists each year.
