PART B_2

We are not certain of the amount of pesticides we can safely consume. It may be a good idea to consume less of them, but not everyone can afford to regularly buy organic food. For example, organic eggs may cost 50% more than the ordinary kind, but an organic chicken can cost 6 times more than the price of the factory-farmed ones.

It is easy for us to forget that we would not have so much cheap food without industrial farming methods. Many people would say we should give up meat every day. It provides health, ethical, and ecological reasons. Some may argue that we have become used to a way of life that is destroying our environment and harming our health. Critics, on the other hand, consider it too idealistic to think that we can produce the food the world needs organically.

The main problem with organic seems to be the fact that it opposes big businesses by being one. Many products are unsustainable; they may be good for us, but not for the planet. What we can do is replace “organic” with “local” or “hand-made.”
