PART B_2

The host poured tea into the cup and placed it on the small table in front of his two guests, a father and his daughter. The host then put the lid on the cup with a light sound. Apparently thinking of something, he left the thermos on the table before hurriedly making his way into the inner room. Not long after, the guests heard a chest of drawers opening and rustling.

The father and his ten-year-old daughter remained seated in the parlor as they waited for the host to return. The daughter was looking at the flowers outside the window, and as the father was about to take his cup, a crash came right into the parlor. The thermos had fallen to the floor.

The daughter looked over her shoulder abruptly, startled. Neither of them had touched the thermos, and although it had not stood steadily when the host placed it on the table, it had not fallen then.
