PART B_2

An important piece of evidence which was said to be Sacco’s cap had been found where the crime happened. However, the cap was too small when Sacco tried it on. Amazingly, the lawyer continued talking about “Sacco’s cap” avoiding the truth about its small size.
The lawyer then asked a person who saw the crime, James Bostock. When asked if he saw who shot the gun, he said he did not see them properly, but they looked like Italians. However, he did not recognize Vanzetti and Sacco. He was able to pick up pieces of evidence after the crime and compared them with Vanzetti’s gun, but they found out they were different.
After seven weeks, the final decision on the case was made. Sacco and Vanzetti were guilty. People demanded more investigation. They thought the decision was based on the men’s political belief and prejudice against them as foreigners. Despite having no evidence of them doing the crime, their life came to an end on August 23, 1927. Arguments on their guilt continued even after their death. Although they did not admit their mistake, the State of Massachusetts thought of having a “Vanzetti and Sacco Memorial Day” on their death anniversary.
