PART B_2

Computers will never be able to have a natural conversation with humans, no matter how hard scientists try to make it possible. It is because human language use statements with meanings that cannot be explained in words clearly. They are called implicit statements which vary on situations and words used.
The statements’ meanings could sometimes be implicit or explicit which depend on a variety of situations. For example, the meaning and response to the statement “There’s a really good restaurant near my house.” could be explicit or implicit. The explicit meaning conveys direct information while the implicit meaning could be an invitation to eat at the restaurant. To understand the speaker, the listener should interpret the implicit meanings of statements used. The speaker should also be able to make the listener understand depending on his or her purpose if the listener was not able to understand its implicit meaning.
Conversations could be done without problems by choosing suitable words and giving proper quantity of true, direct, and useful information. Also, conversations between people of different cultures could sometimes result in problems due to implicit statements. So, background knowledge about different cultures is important to improve conversations between people of different cultures.
