PART B_2

Cultural differences might affect businesses
Nowadays, a lot of companies have been doing business abroad. However, there are cultural differences that businesspersons should be careful about.
In the U.S., it is very common to have a small talk regarding personal life before starting a meeting. Meanwhile, in some cultures, talking about personal life may be seen in a bad way as it is considered wasting time. Another example of cultural differences is about being confrontational. In North and Latin America, businesspersons usually say things directly and are used to confrontations. However, in Asia, they are usually more collaborative and usually not comfortable taking an action that might hurt other people.
Speaking different languages could also be one of the biggest problems business people may encounter when dealing with foreign companies. So, it is important to keep their speech simple and direct to the point. Avoiding fancy words might also come in handy. A simple speech would help minimize miscommunication.
It is also important to be mindful of their actions. In Western countries, eye contact is normal. However, in most Asian countries, it is considered rude.
How businesspersons deal with their clients might significantly affect their business. So, they have to keep in mind that they should consider the cultural differences to keep a good working relationship with their foreign clients.
