PART B_2

The food crisis in the world
The food crisis is one of the many problems countries have been struggling with over the years. This is more common in African and Asian countries. Climate change has been one of the main causes of the threat to food security as it affects the natural production of food and the likes.
A food shortage is not just about not having enough food but it also creates other serious problems. People who already do not have easy access to food production are most likely to be affected by this. It also affects the livelihood of many people. As a result, they are forced to move into another place in hopes that it could give them more opportunities in life.
According to the World Health Organization, there are more than 820 million people who have been experiencing hunger for the past years. This has put the development of many countries on hold. Because of that, the government and some non-profit organizations have been working together to achieve the Zero Hunger by 2030. However, they know that this would be a tough journey as hunger is still on the rise in many African countries. It has also been slowly increasing in Latin America and the Caribbean. Meanwhile, it has been continuously rising in Western Asia which is now more than 12% of its population are undernourished. They aim to put an end to this crisis by promoting sustainable agriculture, supporting small-time farmers, and by providing equal access to lands.
