Students at some universities are getting the education they need while remaining socially distant. However, online education varies from one professor to another.
One student attends classes using an online classroom, and some teachers just post videos of their presentations.
Students understand the situation, but they are concerned about what they might lose. A student said online lessons are a “much lesser experience than what I would be getting if I was on campus.”
School administrators are aware that this semester will be challenging. Some institutions are giving partial refunds for housing, while others are introducing a pass/fail grading system instead of letter grades. Professors are making an effort to help, but students are still worried about losing a semester. “I want to get a job after college. I don’t want to stay for a fifth year,” a student said. Additionally, she hopes companies and employers will understand if she ends up getting a lower grade point average.
