比較級とは、形容詞や副詞に-erをつけることで、「～より…だ」と他のものと比べる表現を表します。比較の対象は”than～”で表します。
最上級とは、形容詞や副詞に-estをつけることで、「～の中でもっとも…だ」という意味を表します最上級は通常、the＋-estのように定冠詞を伴います。

例文：

“Ann gets up earlier than her sister.”

「アンは姉より早く起きます。」

“He is the tallest among the three of them.”

「彼はその３人のうちで一番背が高いです。」
