Part 0　今日の学習内容

過去のある時点で何かをしている最中だった、という状況を表現できるようになりましょう。このようなときには、
He was writing a letter when the phone rang.
（電話が鳴ったとき、彼は手紙を書いていた）のように、
過去進行形（was/were＋～ing）を使います。
過去進行形は、現在進行形（is/am/are＋～ing）のbe動詞が過去形になった形です。

Let’s learn how to express actions that were happening at a specific time in the past, by using the past continuous tense: was/were + ~ing.

例文：

“He was writing a letter when the phone rang.”

「電話が鳴ったとき、彼は手紙を書いていた。」

“You were sleeping when I was watching TV.”

「あなたが寝ていたとき、私はテレビを見ていた。」
