Hi! I’m Carla, and I’m very honored to start this new chapter as an ESL teacher.

For most of my career, I worked in the corporate world, specifically in the transcription industry, where I held several managerial roles. Over the years, I realized that what I enjoyed most wasn’t just hitting targets or running operations—it was working with people. I’m passionate about coaching new team members, leading training sessions, and helping others grow in their roles. That’s what really sparked my interest in teaching.

English has always been a big part of my life, both professionally and personally. My background in transcription demanded a strong grasp of the language—accuracy, clarity, and attention to detail were non-negotiable. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to work with teams and clients from various parts of the world, which has helped me become a confident and effective communicator, both in writing and in conversation.

Transitioning to ESL teaching feels like a natural next step. I genuinely enjoy helping others find their voice in English and gain the confidence to use it in real life. I believe that learning a language should be fun, practical, and tailored to each student’s pace and personality.

Outside of work, I’m a water baby and a big fan of travelling. I love exploring new cultures and soaking in the laid-back vibe of coastal towns. I think those experiences have made me more open-minded and adaptable—qualities I hope to bring into the classroom as well.

I may be coming from a different industry, but what I bring with me is a solid foundation in communication, a passion for teaching, and a genuine desire to make a difference in my students' lives. I’m looking forward to growing in this new role and creating positive learning spaces where learners from various backgrounds feel comfortable and empowered to achieve their language goals.
