DIALOGUE READING

Let’s read the dialogue below. After reading it once, we’ll switch roles.

READ

Mr. Roberts: Hi Miho! Good morning, are you going to school today?
Miho: Good morning. Yes, I’m headed to school to meet with other foreign students, and I also want to learn how to get there before school starts.
Mr. Roberts: Okay, so this is our place. We’re on Crest street. Do you know Maine Street?
Miho: Yes, it’s the street next to ours.
Mr. Roberts: Good. So from here, turn right on Maine Street so you’ll get to the bus stop. A bus stops there every 20 minutes, but make sure you get on Bus 44, okay?
Miho: Alright.
Mr. Roberts: Now remember, you have to get off on the third stop of Bus 44 from Maine Street. Its third stop is at Holloway Street, you follow?
Miho: Yes, that’s where my school is. Okay, thanks. That’s very helpful.

SAMPLE ANSWER

The professor is talking about bacteria and the effects bacteris can have on humans.
According to the professor, bacteria are defined as microorganisms, which can be found all over the world.
The professor presents two kinds of bacteria, namely harmful bacteria and beneficial bacteria.
First, the professor provides the example of the Black Death to illustrate that harmful bacteria can kill prople.
He also gives the example of food poisoning to show that harmful bacteria can make people sick.
Second, the professor provides the example of the helpful bacteria in our intestines to show that some beneficial bacteria can help us to digest food.
He also gives the examples of foods, medicines, and products to show that beneficial bacteria give us useful things.
Through this short lecture, I learned that there are harmful bacteria which hurt people and beneficial bacteria which help people.
