Because of this, there are many festivals being celebrated in the country. One of the most celebrated festivals in the Philippines is the Ati-Atihan festival. It is celebrated every 3rd Sunday of January in the town of Kalibo. It is a festival in honor of the Sto. Nino. Participants wear tribe costumes at the parade. They also do tribal dances with loud drums. Ati-Atihan is a long-week festival that includes activities such as parades of giant floats and street dancing.
