PART B_2
Dr. Amano Atsushi, a doctor from Japan, is one of the most distinguished heart surgeons. In 1983, he graduated from the Medical school of Nihon University. He worked in different hospitals which gave him the opportunity to help more patients.
It is Dr. Amano’s childhood dream to be a doctor, so he thought of taking up medicine. But before he achieved his dream, he experienced failures. At that time, he did not regret failing because his will to become a doctor became stronger. At 31, his father died after a heart surgery. He experienced much grief, but he was not discouraged. He realized that he should be more careful because the patient’s life is in his hands.
Dr. Amano won people’s admiration because of his remarkable skills as a heart surgeon. People refer to him as “the surgeon with God’s hands.” However, Dr. Amano thinks people put too much emphasis on what they claim him to be. Instead, he points out that his positive attitude, years of experience, and passion are the reasons why he is able to help more patients in need of his care.

Pictograms
The use of words is the most common means of communication. On the other hand, there are also other ways to communicate. One of them is the use of pictograms.
A pictogram is a symbol that tells a certain message. Instead of words, images are used in pictograms. And so, even those who do not know a certain language can still understand the message of pictograms. Even the children who cannot read yet can understand the meaning of some of them.
Simple images and bright colors are used in making pictograms. As a result, they are easy to understand and they catch the attention of people. They can also be helpful in times of emergency. This is the reason pictograms are often used in public places such as train stations and shopping malls.
As more and more foreigners visit Japan, these images can be helpful for them during their stay in the country. All they have to do is look around and they will surely find some pictograms.

The relation between eating habits and obesity
Obesity is a medical condition when a person is overweight that affects his or her overall health. This often leads to serious illnesses such as heart disease and stroke. One of the major causes of obesity is having poor eating habits.
Eating too fast without chewing food properly makes people to still feel hungry and want to consume more food than what the body needs. This is one of the most common reasons some people overeat. Having frequent snacks also contributes to weight gain. Portions of food, no matter how small, accumulate which adds up to the total amount of calories present in one’s body. When done continuously, this could lead to having excessive calories. While other people think skipping breakfast helps them lose weight, it actually gives an opposite effect. Not eating breakfast intensifies the feeling of hunger at lunchtime. This boosts one’s absorption of food which causes the absorbed food to turn into fat. Consuming foods with too much sugar is also not a good practice. When sugar is digested, some parts enter the blood vessel and form blood sugar. Later on, this will make a person become fat.
Obesity is a growing health problem across the globe. Choosing a healthy lifestyle that includes following a balanced diet and staying physically active can help prevent this problem.
